Universal Battle Map Generator

What Is It?

This page is designed to allow users of the Universal Battle online gaming system to randomly roll for a 72” x 48” table filled with terrain. It is designed to work with the Warhammer Fantasy tabletop game primarily. By rolling on a random table, users can avoid using maps that are custom designed to positively affect their opponents army (or negatively affect their own). The line "You want me to load up a map?" has the potential to be abused.

This website gives players 12 maps to randomly choose from in the Standard Collection and 18 if rolling on the Special Collection. The Special Collection adds 6 maps that are more complicated and that not everyone will want to use.

The system is very simple. A single D6 is first rolled to select one of the groups of 6 maps and then a second D6 is rolled to choose which of those 6 in the group is picked.

These maps are not my original works. They are sourced from the Universal Battle community collection of user-made maps. I have made minor (and in some cases major) changes to the originals so that they are more user friendly (i.e. in some cases removing some terrain pieces that made the map too cluttered) or in other cases, simply beautifying the originals (to my tastes anyway :P). I have included the name of the original designer where I have seen it and will endeavor to find out who created the rest and have their names credited in the near future.

Update 07/06/14 - Added 8 new maps for the ETC 2014. When you hover over the Special Collection menu button, a dropdown menu appears which contains the 8 ETC 2014 maps.

Update 13/12/13 - Added 8 new maps. When you hover over the Special Collection menu button, a dropdown menu appears which contains the 8 ETC 2013 maps.

How It Works

Standard Collection

Roll a D6.
1 – 3 selects Group A
4 – 6 selects Group B

Roll another D6. The number corresponds to the Map you have selected.

Special Collection

This option includes 6 more maps that I’ve picked out as being quite challenging to play upon or have had a lot of work put into them by their makers. It’s possible that these maps could hurt some armies’ though if they are more skewed towards a certain play style, such as cavalry or shooting or infantry blocks. They look pretty sweet though!

Roll the first D6.
1 – 2 selects Group A
3 – 4 selects Group B
5 – 6 selects Group C

Roll another D6. The number corresponds to the Map you have selected.

ETC 2013 Maps

Roll a D8 to select a map.

Feedback

All feedback is welcome and can help grow this site to a useable community resource.

If you know of ways to improve the site or suggestions for other groups of maps, please let us know via the Contact page. Perhaps you know of some good balanced maps that also look appealing that we might want to use in the future, or perhaps you have a map that you'd like to submit yourself.

Maybe one of your maps is on here and you want it taken down. Whatever it may be, please send us an email and it will be considered.

I hope you enjoy the great artwork that the users of UB have created. Catch you on UB for a battle sometime,
